Town House at The Kensington to launch Cirque du Soleil OVO-inspired pre-theatre menu for Royal Albert Hall audiences

Town House at The Kensington to launch Cirque du Soleil OVO-inspired pre-theatre menu for Royal Albert Hall audiences

A new collaboration between Town House at The Kensington hotel and Cirque du Soleil’s OVO has been announced, offering a themed pre-theatre menu to coincide with the show’s run at the Royal Albert Hall. The partnership, which commences on 9th January, aims to provide theatre-goers with a culinary experience inspired by the energy and narrative of OVO, ahead of performances at the iconic venue, which is located just a short walk from the restaurant. The special menu will be available throughout the show’s London run, ending on 1st March.

OVO, whose name means “egg”, debuts in London this January, featuring acts such as aerial silks, Chinese poles, a trampoline wall, contortion, foot juggling, a cradle and slackwires. It celebrates biodiversity, community and the joy of discovery through its acrobatics and visual spectacle, and executive chef Isabela Vaz at Town House has designed two exclusive dishes – a starter and a dessert – specifically to reflect that. Vaz drew inspiration from the narrative, which centres on a vibrant, insect-themed world and a love story between a quirky fly and a spirited ladybug. Her starter places the egg front and centre, flanked by salt-baked Jerusalem artichoke puree, Iberico ham and winter leaves. The meal later concludes with the OVO, a plum and grape white chocolate egg developed in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil that’s described as “a joyful final flourish before curtain-up”.

The pre-theatre menu is offered at £36 per person for three courses and is available for dinner before evening performances at the Royal Albert Hall.
