Several London venues have introduced new menus and initiatives for the coming month to cater to those observing Dry January – the month-long campaign encouraging people to abstain from alcohol after indulging during the festive season. Among the venues taking part with notable offerings lined up are Do Not Disturb Bar in City, The Bloomsbury Club and The K Bar at The Kensington, each offering a range of non-alcoholic cocktails and mindful drinking experiences throughout the month.

Do Not Disturb, located on Garlick Hill, is an underground speakeasy inspired by the clandestine drinking dens of 1920s New York. They’re launching a menu of non-alcoholic CBD cocktails for Dry January, aiming to provide options for those seeking to avoid alcohol without sacrificing the experience. The menu includes libations such as the Get A Wiggle On, which features homemade non-alcoholic gin, coriander seed and juniper syrup, lime cordial and CBD, and the Mickey Finn, combining Everleaf Mountain with hibiscus and blackcurrant tea, strawberry and kaffir shrub, lime leaves and CBD.

Meanwhile, The Bloomsbury Club has partnered with No.3 Gin to introduce a Dry Martini January campaign, “designed to champion mindful drinking while supporting the hospitality industry during its quietest month”. The bar is offering a dedicated Dry Martini Menu, which features three distinct styles of martini, each paired with carefully selected small plates. A mini martini flight is also available, providing guests the opportunity to sample a range of martini styles in smaller servings.

Finally, The K Bar, in collaboration with Boatyard Distillery and Cocchi, is offering what it calls a more refined experience for martini enthusiasts. They’ve introduced a martini trolley service, where guests can enjoy three mini martinis for £22, each served tableside and described as “a pure expression of the classic”.

These initiatives come as London’s hospitality venues seek to attract customers during January, traditionally a quieter period for the industry. The focus on non-alcoholic options reflects a broader trend towards moderation and inclusivity in the city’s scene. While Dry January encourages participants to abstain from alcohol, these bars aim to demonstrate that socialising and enjoying sophisticated cocktails need not be compromised. The menus will be available throughout January at the respective venues.
