Hampstead’s The Stag pub reopens with revamped interiors, new spaces and expanded menus

Hampstead’s The Stag pub reopens with revamped interiors, new spaces and expanded menus

Hampstead’s The Stag will reopen on 22nd January following a comprehensive refurbishment. The pub on 67 Fleet Road will now include a dedicated floor for private events, a new garden hut, a constantly changing selection of craft beers and a seasonally updated martini menu. The reopening comes as part of Young’s efforts to modernise the venue while maintaining its traditional character.

The new look has involved both interior and exterior updates. Inside, original features such as the mounted stags, ornamental mirrors and open fireplaces have been carefully restored, while keeping the building “every inch a classic British pub”. The large garden has also been upgraded with a dedicated outdoor bar and screens for sports, as well as a new Garden Room, featuring cobblestone floors, a fireplace and retractable awnings to provide flexible space for gatherings and celebrations in all weather conditions.

Behind the bar, The Stag will showcase a selection of five rotating craft beers from breweries such as Pretty Decent Beer, Verdant and Deya, alongside established brands like Guinness, Asahi and Modelo. They will also introduce a martini menu that changes with the seasons, with seven variations of the cocktail including Dirty, Spicy and Tomatini. The food offering has been similarly updated with new dishes inspired by the team’s travels. Options include a Stag Bag – described as a nod to the Irish spice bag – rotisserie chicken and the venue’s popular chicken wings. Lunchtime visitors can expect a variety of toasties, while Sunday roasts will feature a selection of slow-cooked meats, Yorkshire puddings and traditional accompaniments.

A new first-floor space, Upstairs at The Stag, is dedicated to private events and equipped with its own taps and sound system. It comprises three connected rooms, including a kitchen area with a vintage fridge and butcher’s block, a living room and a private chequerboard for outdoor socialising.

The pub’s opening hours are 11am to 11.30pm from Monday to Thursday, 11am to 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11am to 11pm on Sundays.
