The Lanesborough launches Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea to celebrate season four premiere

The Lanesborough Hotel in Hyde Park will launch a new limited-edition Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea next week on 29th January, coinciding with the premiere of Bridgerton Season 4 on Netflix. The event, developed in partnership with Netflix and Shondaland, will take place at the hotel’s glass-domed dining room, aiming to celebrate the Regency era’s elegance and drama through its culinary offerings. This collaboration also marks the debut of Hendrick’s Gin’s latest expression, Another Hendrick’s, created exclusively for The Lanesborough – reportedly the first time the gin brand has introduced a new product as part of a hotel partnership.

The tea, curated by head pastry chef Jolan Thiry, pays tribute to key characters and moments from the forthcoming release. On the menu is a range of finger sandwiches and pastry tartlets, with options including Westcombe cheddar with spring onion aioli, Scottish smoked salmon with citrus crème fraîche, spicy harissa chicken with basil, and a cucumber, avocado and mint combination in a truffled potato bun. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives are also available.

The sweet selection includes four signature cakes, each inspired by Bridgerton characters. The Lady in Silver is a sharing cake described as “a radiant tribute to Sophie, this season’s leading lady”, consisting of sponge layered with lemon, vanilla whipped cream and yuzu gel, finished with silver leaf and edible pearls. Other desserts include Benedict’s Masquerade (a chocolate and tonka mousse with hazelnut praline), Let Love Take Flight (blackberry mousse on sesame sponge) and Cottage Bloom (a floral cake with ginger and green apple mousse).

The drinks menu features two themed cocktails: Forbidden Love, which combines Hendrick’s with vanilla, lemon and London Essence Peach & Jasmine Soda, garnished with rose water, and a non-alcoholic option, Beneath the Mask, with passion fruit, lychee, vanilla and lemon, also topped with the same soda and rose water mist.

The Lanesborough’s dining room, known for its Regency neo-classical design, will serve as the setting. It is described as being naturally illuminated during the day by a domed glass roof and softly lit by chandeliers in the evening, with bas-relief artwork cast from 250 mouldings.

The Bridgerton Afternoon Tea is priced at £92 per person, with options to include a cocktail (£102) or a glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée champagne (£110). A children’s menu for under 12s is available at £55. Reservations are required and can be made through the hotel’s website or by phone.
