New Lebanese restaurant Kinz to open in Notting Hill Gate, blending tradition with modern dining

A new Lebanese restaurant, Kinz, will open its doors in Notting Hill Gate on 15th April. The venue, co-founded by Jad Lahoud, Karim Lahoud and Rasha Khouri Bruzzo, will occupy a former Lloyds Bank building and aims to offer a modern, all-day interpretation of Levantine cuisine. The founders say their goal is to blend traditional home recipes with contemporary dining, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner in a setting that accommodates up to 130 guests.

Kinz’s menu will feature a range of dishes, with breakfasts starting from £12 and small mezze plates from £8. Larger plates, priced from £18, will include items such as Lamb Kafta, Warak Enab with Koussa and Lamb Cutlet, and Fattet Aubergine. There will also be a selection of house-made breads, pastries and a Full Lebanese breakfast intended for sharing. A deli at the entrance will sell preserves, spice blends, olive oil and freshly prepared items, allowing customers to purchase ingredients and ready-made dishes to enjoy at home.

Kinz’s drinks list will focus on wines from independent and Lebanese producers, with prices starting at £8 per glass and £30 per bottle. Cocktails will be based on familiar recipes but incorporate regional flavours and ingredients.

The setting retains elements of the building’s original 1930s architecture by Sir Edward Maufe. The main dining area features a triple-height ground floor with a canopied bar and additional seating on a mezzanine level. This gallery-like space will display large format photography of Lebanon by local photographers. Private dining options include a room for up to 16 guests and a wine room located in the former bank vault, perfect for tastings and smaller gatherings. The interiors are designed by Fare Inc and incorporate both modern and traditional elements from the Mediterranean region. The space includes an oversized wine-red lantern, artisan ironwork, striped textiles and rustic textures, with a colour palette referencing the country’s urban landscape. The third-floor private dining room features pomegranate tapestries and warm finishes.

Co-founder Jad Lahoud said, “Growing up in London, Karim and I were surrounded by a strong Lebanese community and the food that defines it. With parents who were both chefs, those flavours shaped how we eat and cook today. Kinz is our way of bringing the spirit of Lebanon to London, not just through the food, but through the atmosphere, the design and every considered detail.” Bruzzo added, “We’re incredibly excited to bring Kinz to life in Notting Hill Gate. The project is rooted in the food and traditions I grew up with – the small details, rituals and flavours that are passed down at home rather than written down. Kinz takes its name from the Arabic word for ‘treasure’ and is our tribute to those treasures: cherished recipes, generous cooking and the spirit of Lebanese food as it’s meant to be shared today. It’s a place designed to feel as natural for everyday visits as it does for long, lingering meals.”

Kinz will open seven days a week, from 8am to 11pm on weekdays and 9am to 11pm on weekends.
