Gloria introduces Italo Sunday Club with Italian sharing feast in Shoreditch

Gloria, the Big Mamma Group’s Shoreditch trattoria, has launched a new weekly set menu concept called the Italo Sunday Club, offering a three-course Italian sharing feast every Sunday afternoon for £39 per person.

The offering, which began this month at the restaurant on Shoreditch’s dining circuit in east London, runs every Sunday from midday until 4.30pm and is available for groups of up to 20 people. It has been positioned as an Italian alternative to the British Sunday roast, designed for relaxed, communal dining in a family-style format.

The menu opens with prosciutto crudo di Parma and home-made focaccia, served alongside a large seasonal salad to share across the table. The main course centres on Gloria’s signature lasagna, made with layers of fresh pasta, slow-cooked beef ragù, creamy béchamel, Parmigiano and melting mozzarella fior di latte, and brought to the table as a full tray for the group. Dessert follows in the same format, with a whole tray of tiramisù (prepared with Marsala wine), served for the table to share.

The format draws on the Italian tradition of long, unhurried Sunday lunches shared with family or friends, adapted for a restaurant setting. By serving dishes in large trays rather than individual plates, the concept encourages a more informal, convivial atmosphere that differs from standard à la carte dining.

Gloria is one of several London restaurants operated by the Big Mamma Group, who specialise in theatrical, design-led Italian restaurants. The company has built a considerable following in London, with Gloria among its most established venues in the capital.

The menu is available without prior notice of a specific booking requirement beyond the group size cap of 20, making it accessible for both planned gatherings and more spontaneous Sunday outings.
