Belgravia’s Prince Arthur pub to host exclusive Antinori wine dinner this June

Next week, Belgravia gastropub Prince Arthur will host a one-off tasting menu evening in their private dining room, partnering with Italian winemaker Antinori to offer guests a selection of Tuscan wines paired with dishes from the venue’s new head chef.

The occasion on 4th June will be hosted by an Antinori ambassador, who will guide diners through a curated selection of the producer’s wines. The line-up includes their well-known Tignanello, a Tuscan red blend, alongside Cervaro della Sala, a white wine produced at the Castello della Sala estate in Umbria.

Each wine will be paired with a course from a menu devised by Juan Ruiz, who recently joined Prince Arthur as head chef. Dishes on offer include Turbot Dripping Potatoes and Oscietra Caviar, Herefordshire Beef with Potato Pavé and Plus Jus and a Chocolate Mousse with Blueberries and Mint. The pairings are intended to highlight the range of styles in Antinori’s portfolio, which spans several Italian wine regions.

The Marchesi Antinori family has been involved in winemaking for more than six centuries and is regarded as one of Italy’s most established producers. Tignanello, first released in the early 1970s, is widely credited with helping to launch the Super Tuscan category, in which traditional Sangiovese grapes are blended with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Cervaro della Sala, a Chardonnay-based blend, is similarly viewed as a benchmark white from central Italy.

The collaboration with Prince Arthur, which combines a traditional pub setting with a Basque-influenced restaurant, reflects a broader trend among London gastropubs of pairing higher-end food offerings with structured wine tastings led by visiting producers and ambassadors.

With limited capacity, attendance at Thursday’s dinner will be restricted to a small number of paying guests, alongside a small allocation of press seats. Tickets are priced at £200 per person.
