Hawksmoor launches £10 Kentucky River Old Fashioned for Father’s Day celebrations

Hawksmoor, the British steak house and bar group, is serving a limited-edition Kentucky River Old Fashioned cocktail for £10 throughout June at its restaurants in London, Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh, especially for Father’s Day. The celebration of fathers and father figures in the UK falls on the third Sunday in June, when the hospitality sector typically sees a spate of bookings for the occasion – and the special drink is a bit of a steal for a premium bourbon cocktail in central London.

The drink is a summer variation on the classic Old Fashioned, made with Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon, white cacao and peach, and finished with a lemon twist. It is offered as an option for diners marking Father’s Day, whether over dinner, as a celebratory tipple or during a post-work gathering in the run-up to the weekend.

The launch coincides with the release of a Maker’s Mark short film that was filmed at Hawksmoor St Pancras. It features British actor Lucien Laviscount (of Emily in Paris) and will premiere on his Instagram account @its_lucien. The piece has Laviscount reflecting on the everyday shortcuts people take, before raising a Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned to moments he says deserve greater attention.

“There’s something special about going to a great bar, being with good company and taking a moment to enjoy it properly,” he said. “We compromise on little things all day, so when you do get that moment to stop, you want it to feel like it’s all worth it. For me, a Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned is exactly that: simple ingredients, done properly, with real character.”
