Luxury hotels launch Lake to Lake driving package linking Lake Como and St Moritz for summer 2026

Two luxury hotels, Il Sereno on Lake Como in Italy and the Kulm Hotel overlooking Lake St Moritz in Switzerland’s Engadin Valley, have launched a cross-border travel package combining stays at both properties with a scenic drive between them. The Lake to Lake experience is available for bookings between 12th June and 30th August this year, and is aimed primarily at travellers wishing to make the journey in their own vintage or high-performance vehicles.

The package begins with two nights at Il Sereno on Lake Como, where guests stay in waterfront suites and have the option of a dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant Il Sereno Al Lago, headed up by executive chef Raffaele Lenzi. Private lake excursions aboard Cantiere Ernesto Riva self-drive boats are also available, with further facilities at the property including a spa, a 60-foot freshwater infinity pool and a recently introduced Darsena Listening Suite for audiophiles.

The journey between the two destinations follows roads around Lake Como, climbs the switchbacks of the Maloja Pass and descends towards the lakes of the Engadin. While the experience is designed for guests travelling in their own cars, a supercar or vintage vehicle – such as a Ferrari Roma Spider or vintage Alfa Romeo Spider – may be arranged on request, with a professional guide to match. A music playlist compiled by Arman Naféei, directeur d’ambiance at the Kulm Hotel, is curated to accompany guests along the route.

The itinerary concludes with a two-night stay at the Kulm Hotel in St Moritz, including a 50-minute massage at their spa. The property’s amenities include a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, swimming and paddleboarding on the lake and six restaurants, among them Mauro Colagreco’s Kulm Country Club.

The launch follows Il Sereno’s recognition as a Condé Nast Traveller Triple Crown property, an accolade awarded to hotels that have featured on the publication’s Hot List, Gold List and Readers’ Choice Awards.

Dean Bannon of The Leading Hotels of the World, said: “We exist to bring together independent hotels that define remarkable quality and a true sense of place. This collaboration between Il Sereno Lago di Como and Kulm Hotel St Moritz is a natural expression of that community, where two distinctive destinations come together to offer travellers a more immersive and meaningful journey. It speaks to our mission of creating uncommon experiences that extend beyond a single stay.”

Pricing for the package starts at €7,800 or $9,000, without car rental. The curated driving experience, provided with 100 All’Ora, is available as an optional addition from €13,000 or $15,000. All bookings are subject to availability.
