Adam Handling launches Ahrelia Caviar to make premium caviar more affordable for consumers

Michelin-starred chef Adam Handling MBE has launched a caviar brand, Ahrelia Caviar, entering the premium market in 2026 with a range of products sold directly to consumers online – and priced, the company says, to make the special ingredient more affordable.

Handling is the chef-owner of the Adam Handling Collection, which operates several venues across England, including Frog by Adam Handling and Eve Bar in London, The Loch & the Tyne in Old Windsor, and The Tartan Fox and Ugly Butterfly in Cornwall. Enjoying a career that has achieved two Michelin stars and two published books, Handling has won an array of awards, including Champion of Champions from the BBC’s Great British Menu series and an MBE for services to hospitality and international trade in 2024’s New Year Honours list. He even created one of five official recipes marking the Coronation of King Charles III.

The decorated chef’s Ahrelia range comprises seven varieties: Royal Baerii, Oscietra, Imperial, Imperial Gold, Beluga, Kaluga and Trout Roe. The company explains all of its sturgeon species are matured for the best quality results, starting at six years for Baerii and rising to 15 years for Kaluga and as far as 20 years for Beluga. Presented in beautifully designed tins, the delicate, unpasteurised pearls are selected for their character, texture, purity and flavour profile, with extras available online including caviar keys, mother-of-pearl spoons and blinis.

Caviar has traditionally sat comfortably in the luxury market as a high-cost ingredient associated with affluent consumers, often out of reach for the average consumer. Ahrelia aims to change that by offering it at lower prices and encouraging eating it in larger quantities.

Handling said: “Caviar is one of my favourite things in the world but for far too long it’s come with a price tag that makes one think twice before even picking up the spoon. We’ve created a new range of caviar which is the best I’ve ever tasted and is available at a price that is fair and makes it way more accessible. Caviar should be enjoyed in generous portions, not used sparingly because one is terrified of the cost. That’s what Ahrelia is all about.”
