Greek frozen yoghurt brand MYKA to launch first UK store in London’s St Christopher’s Place this month

MYKA, the Greek frozen yoghurt brand founded in Madrid, will open its first UK store at St Christopher’s Place in the West End this month, marking the company’s entry into the British market as part of its wider international expansion.

The brand currently operates 43 stores and has signed more than 270 franchise agreements across 26 countries. It has previously opened outlets in cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, New York, Miami, Mexico City and Panama City, and has further openings planned in Hong Kong and São Paulo.

MYKA makes Greek frozen yoghurt using artisanal Greek yoghurt and goat’s milk kefir, prepared daily from the company’s own recipe at the in-house workshops at each store. The team explain their offering is high in protein, naturally contains probiotics and has a creamy texture, making it a relatively healthy alternative to many other frozen desserts.

In addition to its Original Greek Frozen Yoghurt, each MYKA store offers two seasonal flavours that change monthly, alongside a range of toppings that includes handmade crumbles, fruit compotes, granolas and baklava. Customers can also select from a range of bases to customise their orders.

The company says the choice of London reflects the city’s status as a major food destination. Following a search for a suitable site, MYKA selected St Christopher’s Place for its independent character, dining scene and village-like atmosphere, all of which chime with the brand’s ethos.

MYKA was founded by Natalia Morales and Javier Ezquerro with the aim of presenting Greek yoghurt through a contemporary, design-led format. They describe the concept as inspired by Mediterranean living – from production methods to store design and customer service. Morales brings a background in hospitality and pastry, while Ezquerro contributes international business experience, and their collective objective is to become a leading Greek frozen yoghurt brand internationally.
