Galvin Restaurants unveils affordable Taste of Summer menus across London and Essex venues

Galvin Restaurants has reintroduced its Taste of Summer menus across all three of its venues in London and Chelmsford, served until 15th September at lunch and dinner. The Mediterranean-style selections are available at Galvin’s La Chapelle and the Bistrot & Bar in Spitalfields, as well as at Galvin Green Man in Great Waltham, near Chelmsford, with the intention of providing reasonably priced high-end dining options during the summer months.

At Galvin La Chapelle, a Michelin-starred restaurant housed in a former Victorian school in Spitalfields, diners can order a five-course menu priced at £49 per person, which comes with a glass of 2025 Symphonie Rosé from Château Sainte Marguerite, Côtes de Provence, on arrival. The offering features dishes like Duck Liver Parfait with Moroccan Spices and Fermented Peach, Roasted Yellow Pepper Escabeche with tonnato sauce and stracciatella, a seasonal cassoulet with Dingley Dell pork belly and miso aubergine, and an Amalfi Lemon Tart with burnt soft meringue.

Next door, the more casual Galvin Bistrot & Bar is offering a sharing menu at £29 per person. For this one there are small plates, mains and desserts served to the table, such as Jersey oysters, British burrata with sundried tomato and rocket pesto, and Pio Tosini 24-month Parma ham with homemade focaccia. Larger plates include Grilled Argentinian Prawns with Citrus Butter and Aubergine Parmigiana, and for dessert there’s a House Tiramisu or British Strawberries with Crème Chantilly.

At Galvin Green Man in Chelmsford, the Taste of Summer menu is £19.50 for two courses or £23.50 for three. Among the options are a Red Pepper and Tomato Gazpacho with Basil and Fresh Almonds, a Croquette of Dingley Dell Pork Shoulder with Roast Apricot and Lavender Honey Salad and Tiptree Strawberry Eton Mess. The venue, which holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, is set inside a 14th-century building in the Essex countryside that’s only around 30 minutes from Liverpool Street Station.

The Galvin group, who have held a Michelin star since 2011, explain the summer menus reflect their focus on seasonal produce and hospitality, while keeping the cost reasonable – particularly helpful for those keen to dine in style en famille during the summer holidays.
