PerfectTed to throw free South Bank party for Britain’s most common birthday

Matcha brand PerfectTed will host a free public birthday party at Observation Point on London’s South Bank on Thursday 24^th September, from midday until 6pm, to mark both the UK’s statistically most common birthday and the company’s own fifth anniversary. Entry is free and no booking is required.

The event takes its cue from Office for National Statistics data, which has historically identified 26^th September as the most common birthday in the United Kingdom. Rather than holding the party on the date itself, PerfectTed has scheduled the gathering for two days earlier, with a large birthday cake installation positioned overlooking the Thames.

Attendees born on 26^th September will be given priority. The first 100 guests able to show proof that their birthday falls on that date will each receive a bento birthday cake from bakery chain Lola’s, alongside a PerfectTed gift set containing a matcha bowl, a whisk and a pouch of the company’s Birthday Cake matcha.

The first 400 guests overall will receive a goodie bag produced in partnership with Lola’s, which includes a pouch of the new Birthday Cake flavoured matcha powder. Freshly whisked matcha lattes made with the same ceremonial grade powder will be served free of charge while stocks last.

The timing of the event is linked to the retail launch of the Birthday Cake flavour, which arrives in Sainsbury’s stores from 28^th September.
