Ever find yourself torn between two live shows, each offering something different but both of them catching your fancy? Not Another is right up your street – Rufus Street to be precise (taking a left onto Hoxton Square), where some of the most exciting and varied MCs, jazz players, turntablists and singers took the roof off the Bar & Kitchen on Thursday night.

1Extra-approved acts dominated the bill, from the machinegun rapping of Lady Lykez (whose latest, I Love My Butt, is tearing up dance floors around the country), to Clara Amfo and Emily Rawson who shared duties on the decks. Ex-Streets member Kevin Mark Trail continues to blossom as an artist in his own right, with tracks from his new album Hope Star sounding seriously hot. The stripped-back songwriting of Raphaella brought some calm beauty and soul to proceedings, and BBC Introducing artist Ikes served up some raw realist rhymes in his newest single Let it Go. 

Live magic from illusionist Magical Bones added a further dimension to this varied, brilliantly curated night that left us desperate for another (and another and another).
