Victoria’s Secret show 2015: Lily Aldridge to wear $2 million bra

Every holiday season, an event comes around that fills us with excitement and leaves us in awe. No, we’re not talking about Christmas, we’re talking about the Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

Each year, some of the most beautiful women in the world descend down, what is probably considered the most glamorous and colourful runway in fashion. And since 1995, Victoria’s Secret hasn’t disappointed.

Many things have now become synonymous with the extravagant show. The models, the guests, the outfits, but none more so that the over-the-top, bejewelled Fantasy Bra from Victoria’s Secret. And just like the bra itself, the lady wearing it has become famous too. In the past, beautiful goddesses such as Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum and Gisele have worn the iconic bra. This year’s star is set to join the ranks as Victoria’s Secret Angel and wife of Kings of Leon front man, Caleb Followill: Lily Aldridge.

Called the “Fireworks Fantasy Bra”, this year’s creation is valued at a massive $2 million. Aldridge will model the bra on the runway during the “Fireworks” section at the show, which also just announced Ellie Goulding will perform instead of Rihanna.

Designed exclusively for Victoria’s Secret by jeweller, Mouawad, the beautiful piece features a detachable belt adorned with over 6,500 precious gems, including diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz all set in 18-karat gold.

The buzz around this year’s show is already high. And we can definitely see why, as many like us are waiting eagerly for what can certainly be called, the greatest show on earth.
