Breast Cancer Awareness Month: How to show your support

Breast Cancer Awareness Month: How to show your support

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this year it is an extra special one as we celebrate 25 years of the world famous pink ribbon. One in eight women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life with 5,000 women alone being diagnosed this month. Considering these statistics it is likely that you will encounter this disease at some point in your life, be it through a friend, a family member or personally. Breast Cancer Awareness month is all about showing solidarity with those affected. Showing your support can be as simple as making a donation but there are plenty of other ways to get involved this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Share your stories

For all those diagnosed with breast cancer it can be comforting to know that they are not alone. So if you or someone close to you has been affected by breast cancer share your story through Snapshots of Hope. These stories will be spread all throughout the month to bring hope to other affected.

Clothing

Still looking for some comfy lounge wear to get you through winter? Dorothy Perkins has released an excellent range of loungewear to help you donate in style. Shop a comfy jumper or a cute pair of joggers here and 10% of the sale price will be donated to Breast Cancer Care!

Host a Big Pink

A great way to raise some funds is by getting friends and family or even your co-workers together for a Big Pink. Dress up in pink, share some food and raise money for a good cause. You can find downloadable fundraising materials on the Breast Cancer Care website.

Beautyblender

It’s hard to imagine a world without the Beautyblender. Now you can buy this gorgeous light pink version and support the Look Good Feel Better Foundation. This foundation supports women undergoing cancer treatment by helping them manage appearance-related side effects through beauty lessons. Cancer affects every part of your life and adapting your beauty routine can help you feel like normal. Beautyblender will donate 50% of their proceeds.Estée Lauder

Of course you can never have too many beauty products so if you are already splashing out on a Beautyblender you might also want to check out the Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon Collection. If you are looking for a fantastic Christmas gift for a loved one you might want to consider their Knockout Eyes collection which consists of a selection of eye make-up essentials in a celebratory 25 years of the pink ribbon cosmetic bag.

Organise a charity walk

If you like getting active then maybe a Big Pink is a bit too laid back for you. Why not host a charity walk instead? You can organise your own Pink Ribbon walks and raise money solo or with a group of friends.

Shoes

Organising or partaking in a charity walk? Why not do so in style with a pair of kicks from Skechers or Kohls; both brands will be donating to a breast cancer cause this month!

Asda Tickled Pink

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month couldn’t be easier than through the Asda Tickled Pink Campaign. Simply add products from the range to your weekly shop and you are done. Think Oreos, Diet Coke and even washing up liquid, at no extra expense you will be helping a great cause!
