Golden Globes 2019: Red carpet
It’s safe to say that the 76th annual Golden Globes has well and truly set the bar for 2019’s award season style. Some went for timeless and classic where as others pushed the envelope with a daring display of plunge necklines and hugely extended trains. With the Grammys, BAFTAs, Brits and Oscars now just weeks away, let’s take a look at our favourite looks from the Beverley Hilton hotel’s 2019 red carpet!
Taking tips from her most recent and, arguably, now most famed role, Emily was practically perfect in every way for her entrance to the event. She dazzled in a custom Alexander McQueen metallic embroidered gown featuring a classic high neckline and embroidered medieval flowers, animals and suns.
A beaming Julia Roberts wowed us with her tuxedo trouser ensemble by Stella McCartney complete with a nude one shoulder top and sheer floor length skirt.
Anne Hathaway turned autumn/winter’s biggest trend into red carpet glam in her animal print Elie Saab gown with a reflective metallic bodice, off-the-shoulder straps and a daring thigh high split.
A vision in pink, Emmy Rossum glided along the red carpet in an undeniably pretty blush Monique Lhullier gown.
Julianne Moore was chic as ever. She wore a sleek and crisp white Givenchy haute couture gown with an oversized decorative bow on the back.
Claire Foy was unmissable on the red carpet in a stunning, bright yellow satin Miu Miu gown adorned with star crystals. She perfectly off-set her dress with classic Hollywood curls and a deep wine coloured lip.
Monique Lhuillier was the designer of Heidi Klum’s fun and fabulous dress. Her jet black gown was beautifully enhanced by the bright, expertly crafted flowers adorning the skirt.
Penelope Cruz was breathtaking in a black shimmering Ralph & Russo gown with a dropped back and a velvet halter style neckline.
Kristen Bell channelled old Hollywood glamour with a modern twist in a chic Zuhair Murad gown. The petite actress looked truly stunning with her soft curls and sparkling Harry Winston jewellery.
Never one to opt for subtlety, Lady Gaga made an unmissable entrance in an icy blue, custom-made Valentino couture gown with oversized puff sleeves and a hugely voluminous skirt with a lengthy train.
