What to wear to a winter wedding

What to wear to a winter wedding

To our delight, the summer wedding season is chock-full of garden parties, free-flowing gin bars and our favourite floral tea dresses. When winter arrives, however, piecing together an outfit that’s as appropriate for a formal celebration as it is for temperatures below freezing seems a little more taxing! If your winter wedding invites are stacking up but your outfit ideas are slim to none, there’s no need to panic. We’re here with some fabulous outfit ideas that’ll guarantee your most stylish guest ensemble to date!

Long-sleeved jumpsuit

Forget your floaty cotton dresses, when it’s barely one degree outside we’re going to need something a little more substantial. Not only will a long-sleeved jumpsuit keep you a heck of a lot warmer than a dress, it’ll also look much chicer! Style yours with a pair of heeled strappy sandals… if you can brave the cold on your toes!

Velvet maxi dress

Switch out lighter fabrics and go for a maxi dress in sumptuous velvet. You’ll feel oodles warmer and look more elegant than ever! Finish off your look with a coordinating blazer if you need the extra layer.

Trouser suit

Stand out and get your hands on a killer trouser suit to attend your next winter wedding. Wear it with a pair of high heels and a coordinating headband for extra style points! We suggest a striking floral pattern or opting for a block colour you can style with various tops and heels in the months to come.

Patterned top and wide-leg trousers

Make a statement with an elegant pair of wide-leg trousers and your favourite patterned top or shirt. Silk blouses are a recommended option. Finish off your outfit with classic heels, a structured clutch bag and a warm glass of mulled wine!

High neck dress

High neck dresses are a great way to stay warm in style. We’re pretty much obsessed with them right now and plan to wear them throughout autumn and winter regardless! Style yours up with a pretty pair of heeled pumps and drop earrings for the wedding, and you’ll find you can dress them down with a pair of ankle boots and a sweater afterwards.
