Micheal Nunn and William Trevitt, both former Royal Ballet dancers, both current co-founders of Balletboyz and both awarded OBEs in 2012, now direct and produce the new groundbreaking film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet: Beyond Words. Combining dance, music and film in order to immerse the audience beyond the stage, this retelling of the classic Shakespearean story holds steadfast to the wonderfully emotive pas de deux choreography from Kenneth Macmillan and the original ballet music score by Sergei Prokofiev.

We caught up with the two lead stars who play the titular protagonists, as well as one of the directors behind this ambitious and beautiful film.

English ballerina and principal dancer in The Royal Ballet,  Francesca Hayward, spoke to us about taking on the role of Juliet in the feature, and her steps into the world of film.

First soloist ballet dancer at the Royal Ballet, William Bracewell, chatted to us about his time on set and his disbelief at being cast in the lead role of Romeo.

Director and writer William Trevitt talked us through his initial ideas for this film adaptation, how they went about the casting process and what he hopes audiences will take away from the movie.
