Origin City collaborates with Never Say Die to celebrate World Whisky Day

Origin City, a nose-to-tail restaurant in West Smithfield, London, is joining forces with transatlantic Bourbon brand Never Say Die to celebrate World Whisky Day. The event will run from 14th to 18th May 2024 and will feature a special whiskey-infused menu and a bespoke cocktail flight.

The collaboration includes three unique cocktails created by house mixologist Giacomo Falcicchio and drinks consultant Ruchira Neotia. These concoctions, infused with Origin City’s housemade vermouth and bitters, will highlight Never Say Die’s distinct flavour profile, which results from its particular aging process in Kentucky and the UK.

The drinks lineup includes the Sour Buzz, a twist on a Penicillin cocktail featuring Never Say Die Rye Whisky; A Taste of Provence, a bittersweet preparation with homemade vermouth and Never Say Die Bourbon; and the Black Stallion, an original tipple that combines Never Say Die Rye with various herbs and bitters.

The flight entails Never Say Die’s small-batch Bourbon expression and Rye which has recently been awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirit Awards

Executive chef Graham Chatham has designed a complementary menu that incorporates whiskey in several dishes, such as Whisky-Cured Salmon Pastrami, Chargrilled Black Angus Beef with whisky peppercorn sauce, and Whisky Crème Caramel with golden raisins.

Origin City, which opened in 2023, is known for its pasture-to-plate dining experience, using organic meat from its farm in Argyll, Scotland, and seafood from its aquafarm, Loch Fyne Oysters. The restaurant’s ethos emphasizes using every part of the animal to minimize waste.

Never Say Die is the world’s first transatlantic Bourbon, aged initially in Kentucky before a six-week ocean voyage to England for further maturation. The brand’s name and inspiration come from a legendary racehorse born on co-founder Pat Madden’s family farm in Kentucky.
