Hera unveils Mediterranean-inspired terrace, offering Greek dining and cocktails in East London

Greek restaurant and bar located in Stratford, in East London, HERA, has launched a new outdoor terrace designed to offer diners a Mediterranean-inspired setting. The development aims to provide locals and visitors with a relaxed dining experience reminiscent of the Aegean coastline, without leaving the capital.

The terrace, which accommodates between 80 to 100 seated guests and up to 150 standing, features a large pergola adorned with foliage and artificial fruit. It is intended to serve as a venue for lunches, evening meals, cocktails, and private events during the warmer months. The space is located near several key attractions, including the Everyman Cinema Stratford, the ABBA Arena, and the forthcoming V&A Museum, scheduled to open in spring 2026.

HERA’s menu is formed of a variety of traditional and contemporary Greek dishes. Starters comprise Greek olives, breads with dips such as Melitzanosalata, Tzatziki, and Tirokafteri. Among the signature small plates, there are Feta Saganaki—feta cheese wrapped in angel hair pastry and drizzled with lemon honey—Seabass Carpaccio with yuzu and dill oil, and crispy calamari served with aioli. Other seafood options entail Yellowfin Tuna with mandarin ponzu and Grilled Octopus with fava bean and pico de gallo.

Main dishes on offer include Grilled Lamb Chops with rosemary, King Prawns in tomato and rosemary, and Seafood Pasta featuring calamari, prawns and clams. An extensive cocktail menu presents drinks such as the Helen of Spice, a variation on the spicy margarita; Karpouzi Island, prepared with vodka, melon, mint and lime; and Dates in Crete, made with rye whisky, banana, date and coffee.

A daily cocktail hour runs from 4pm to 7pm on weekdays, during which selected cocktails are priced at £8.

The new terrace launch is part of Stratford Cross’s broader transformation into a cultural hub in East London. With proximity to multiple entertainment venues, HERA is positioned as a convenient stop for pre- or post-event dining and drinks.
