Two three-Michelin-star chefs to unite for Alain Ducasse x Moor Hall collaborative dinner

Two of the UK’s most acclaimed chefs will come together for a collaborative dinner on 9th September at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. Jean-Philippe Blondet of the three Michelin-starred restaurant in Mayfair will host Mark Birchall, who heads up the equally decorated Moor Hall in Lancashire, as they jointly prepare a one-off menu showcasing their respective culinary styles.

The event marks the first time the two will cook together, uniting two of the UK’s seven establishments currently holding three Michelin stars. It offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a unique gastronomic experience, fittingly taking place at The Dorchester – a long-standing institution in London’s epicurian scene.

Featured on the menu are signature dishes from both restaurants, highlighting their individual yet complementary approaches to modern British and French cuisine. Courses to be served include Blondet’s Scallop with Citrus Beurre Blanc and Kristal Caviar, and Birchall’s East Coast Lobster with Tarleton Tomatoes, Smoked Marrow and Rosehip. In sum, the evening aims to celebrate seasonality, technique and provenance, with each offering reflecting the chefs’ shared emphasis on precision and innovation.

The dinner is being overseen by Alain Ducasse himself, the celebrated French expert whose name is synonymous with haute cuisine. While it is a one-night-only affair, it joins a cluster of partnerships between high-profile culinary stars seeking to push the boundaries of fine dining through shared experiences. Speaking about the upcoming event, organisers describe it as “a dialogue of technique, terroir and innovation”.
