The Pot Luck Club to launch first UK residency at The Waldorf Hilton in London

Restaurant The Pot Luck Club will open a three-month residency at The Waldorf Hilton in London from 13th August to 30th November 2025. This marks the first UK appearance for the South African dining concept, led by British-born chef Luke Dale Roberts. The pop-up will take place in the hotel’s Homage restaurant, which will be redesigned to reflect the original venue’s distinctive style.

The Pot Luck Club, located atop Cape Town’s Old Biscuit Mill, has a distinctive style, marked by small plates and bold global flavours. The temporary London outpost will be overseen by Dale Roberts and his Cape Town operations team, with sous chef Rachel Maroun staying on to lead the kitchen during the residency.

“We’ve talked about bringing The Pot Luck Club to London for years, and it was always the city that made sense,” said Dale Roberts. “As a Brit, there’s something meaningful about returning in this way, partnering with one of London’s landmark hotels and sharing what we’ve built in Cape Town with a new audience. We’ve been fortunate to grow an international following at home, and this feels like the natural next step.”

The menu will feature dishes such as Smoked Beef Fillet with Truffle Café au Lait, Springbok Tataki with Mandarin Gastrique, and Cape Malay-spiced vegetarian options. British produce and seasonal ingredients will be central to the offering. Guests can choose between an à la carte menu, a prix fixe option for quicker dining, or the more extensive tasting menu, called Loaded.

The hotel’s Wild Monkey bar will also participate in the collaboration. Under the direction of Head Bartender Abby Long, the bar will serve cocktails using house-infused cordials and seasonal flavours designed to complement the food. A new bar snacks menu, curated by Dale Roberts, will be introduced for the first time.

Guy Hilton, Area General Manager at The Waldorf Hilton, commented: “I’m thrilled to announce the exciting collaboration between The Pot Luck Club and The Waldorf, coming 13th August for 3 months. This partnership is a perfect match — bringing together one of London’s landmark hotels and one of South Africa’s most celebrated restaurants.”
