New Soho restaurant La SPOT brings French-Spanish brioche and social dining to Charlotte Street

La SPOT, a new restaurant located at 18 Charlotte Street in London’s Soho, offers a menu that blends French and Spanish influences through a selection of brioche-based dishes and European-style tapas.
The establishment was founded by a husband-and-wife team alongside a family friend, who previously ran a successful restaurant in Ukraine before relocating to the UK. Drawing inspiration from a culinary road trip across Spain, the trio aimed to create a more casual and accessible dining experience in the heart of London’s bustling food scene.
The restaurant’s concept centres around social dining, with a menu designed for sharing and encouraging conversation. Each table is equipped with question cards to spark dialogue, while the food itself is crafted to be enjoyed communally. Brioche serves as the signature component of the menu, appearing in a variety of forms, from sandwiches to brunch toasts.
Among the standout offerings is the Octopus Hot Dog, which features a slow-cooked octopus tentacle paired with onion marmalade, Makato cheese, potato julienne and hot paprika, served in a brioche bun. Other notable brioche dishes include combinations such as pulled curry chicken and confit piquillo peppers, oxtail and cheddar, red prawns, and a vegetarian/vegan option with sautéed vegetables, garlic, green apple, tomato juice, and a choice of goat or vegan cheese.
In addition to the brioche-led dishes, La SPOT’s tapas menu includes items such as Patatas Cheddar with jamón, Ham Croquettes topped with aioli, Grilled Ribeye and Pluma Ibérico Steaks, Tuna Tartare with trout roe, and Grilled Octopus. Miniature versions of the brioche sandwiches are also available for those wishing to sample a range of flavours.
The venue transitions from a bright daytime atmosphere to a more intimate evening setting, with a downstairs area dubbed the Wine SPOT with a curated wine list and cocktail menu.
Weekend brunch is another interesting dining option, featuring brioche toasts with various toppings, Spanish-style tortillas, and sweet dishes like Churros and French Toast. Seasonal limited-edition specials are introduced periodically, available in small quantities on a first-come, first-served basis.
