Brother Marcus restaurant in Canary Wharf launches weekend brunch and outdoor terrace

Eastern Mediterranean restaurant group Brother Marcus has recently opened its latest and largest site in Canary Wharf, at the base of the newly refurbished YY London building in Reuters Plaza. The new venue marks the group’s flagship location and aims to bring its signature brunch, mezze and cocktail offering to one of London’s busiest business and residential districts.

Founded by Tas Gaitanos and Alex Large, Brother Marcus is characterised by a modern take on Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. The Canary Wharf restaurant features a 174-cover space, including 90 indoor seats and an 84-cover outdoor terrace equipped with its own cocktail bar and a retractable roof.

The new site introduces a menu exclusive to Canary Wharf, focused on open-fire grilled skewers, or souvla: a must is the Lamb Saddle Souvla served with skordalia, spinach, ouzo and anchovy jus. On weekdays, breakfast service is available from 8 am to noon, followed by all-day mezze and a set lunch menu priced at £25 per person.

This summer, the restaurant has launched the weekend brunch menu, with dishes such as Kefir Fried Chicken with crispy potato rosti, and Smoky Shakshuka served with poached eggs, labneh, zhoug, and feta. A selection of two-for-£20 brunch cocktails will be available, alongside an East Mediterranean-focused wine list and house cocktails, including the Marcus Negroni made with hibiscus-infused gin.

Interior design for the new space has been led by Finch Interiors and includes black terracotta tiles, wicker lighting, and sculptural coving to reflect a Mediterranean aesthetic. A curved feature wall and draped trellis welcome the guests, creating a relaxed and inviting environment.

“This site has been a long time in the making, and we are excited to finally bring a slice of the Eastern Med to Canary Wharf,” said co-founder Tas Gaitanos. “Think cocktails, skewers and mezze with long weekend brunches on our sun-soaked terrace.”
