Dipna Anand brings Punjabi street food pop-up to Bicester Village for six-month run

Chef Dipna Anand has opened a six-month pop-up kiosk at Bicester Village in Oxfordshire, offering her take on Punjabi street food to visitors of the luxury shopping destination. The new pitstop, named Dipna’s Brilliant Punjabi, began operating this month and marks the first Indian food-centric outlet at the retail complex. Anand, a well-known figure in British Indian cuisine, aims to introduce her signature dishes to a broader audience through the temporary installation.

Dipna’s Brilliant Punjabi adds to the Village’s growing culinary offering, which includes both international and British culinary options. The addition of northwest Indian street food is expected to appeal to shoppers seeking diverse dining experiences during their visit. Located near the entrance of Bicester Village, the kiosk serves a selection of freshly prepared items inspired by traditional recipes. The menu includes chicken tikka and paneer tikka wraps, vegetable samosas and Papri Chaat Blast (fried dough with signature toppings). Beverages such as Masala Chai and Mango Lassi are also available.

Anand is best known for her family-run restaurant, Brilliant, in Southall, which has been operating for over five decades. She recently opened Brilliant Gastro at The Green Quarter nearby, and has also launched a restaurant in Milton Keynes in partnership with Compass Group. Her cookbooks, which feature many of the recipes now available at the Bicester site, are also being sold at the pop-up.

The Oxfordshire centre features more than 150 boutiques and attracts visitors from across the UK and abroad. It is accessible via a direct train from London Marylebone in under an hour. Speaking about the launch, Anand says: “Bicester Village is the perfect location for me; it’s one of my favourite places to go, I absolutely love to shop there. I look forward to people trying these recipes – they’re bold, full of flavour and straight from the heart. It’s proper Punjabi comfort food, and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with visitors at one of the UK’s most exciting shopping spots!”
