Michelin-trained chef Imran Mansuri to launch modern Indian restaurant Raaz in Putney this autumn

Putney will welcome a new addition to its dining scene this autumn with the opening of Raaz, a modern Indian eatery led by Michelin-trained Imran Mansuri. Located on Lower Richmond Road, the restaurant will offer contemporary cuisine, marking the chef’s first solo venture in the area.

The menu is expected to reflect a refined approach to Indian food, featuring a variety of dishes from street food-inspired chaat to tandoor-grilled meats and slow-cooked curries. Sample offerings include Cornish Lamb Chops with kadai mushrooms and a soft-yolk quail’s egg, Wild Garlic Chicken Chop with charred broccoli, and a coconut-based Malabar Fish Curry made with wild seabass. Seasonal ingredients will be sourced from Essex farms. In addition to its food offering, Raaz will offer a curated drinks list, including cocktails such as a Turmeric Gin and Tonic, a Jalapeño-Guava Margarita and a Lychee 75. The wine list is described as concise and designed to complement dishes, with options suitable for both casual and celebratory occasions.

Mansuri, whose culinary background includes training at Michelin-starred restaurants Tamarind and Benares, has previously held senior positions at Jamavar and most recently served as executive chef at Kolamba in Soho. With Raaz, he aims to bring high-level Indian cooking to a neighbourhood setting. “We’re serving the kind of modern Indian food you’d happily cross London for, only now it’s on your doorstep,” he says.
