Kokum launches summer menu and open-air barbecue in East Dulwich

Contemporary Indian restaurant Kokum, in East Dulwich, has introduced a revised summer menu and launched a new open-air barbecue experience for al fresco dining during the warmer months. Barbecue service is available from Thursday to Sunday on the outdoor terrace, which is covered, allowing patrons to enjoy the experience regardless of weather conditions.
Kokum opened in July 2023 and has since gained attention for its modern take on Indian cuisine. The updated food offering builds on existing dishes while introducing several new items, including grilled starters such as Chicken Chop and Kasundi Prawns. New curries, such as Makrut Lime Prawn and Malvani Fish, have also been added, alongside refreshed biryani options like Chicken Tikka and Wild Mushroom. Diners can also choose from a range of sides, such as Indian Salad and Tandoor Roasted Aubergine. The summer menu is designed to maintain a focus on approachability, offering a concise variety of dishes that balance innovation with familiarity. To complement it, the drinks selection has also seen development, with cocktails like the Pink Peppercorn Old Fashioned and Chocolate Orange Negroni available. These can also be enjoyed at the bar area, which runs along the front section of the restaurant.
The venue is described as a place “where ambitious cooking is complemented with a chic interior and warm welcome”. It seats up to 86 guests and includes a private dining room for up to 24 people, with interior design featuring a mix of earthy tones and vibrant accents, intended to reflect the colours of the Indian landscape.
