Toklas Bakery to host Iberian pop-up and Catalan sparkling wine tasting in central London collaboration

Toklas Bakery in central London will host a one-night event on 16th September, featuring a collaboration with Tasca, the Iberian pop-up from chef Josh Dallaway and sommelier Sinéad Murdoch, and century-old Catalan winery Recaredo. The evening is part of a series of collaborative dinners held by the bakery throughout the month.

On arrival, guests will be offered a curated wine flight from Recaredo, with the brand’s own winemaker present to lead an informal tasting. Recaredo, founded in 1924 in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Catalonia, is recognised for its production of long-aged sparkling wines using organic and biodynamic methods. The winery is a founding member of Corpinnat, a collective of producers who have broken away from the Cava DO to promote higher standards in sparkling wine production. Tasca, the food partner for the evening, is a roving pop-up that has recently completed a residency at Cav in East London. The project is described by its founders as “a love letter to their travels through Spain and Portugal”, with a menu that includes small plates such as Gildas – skewers of olives, anchovies and pickled peppers – and their signature Cachorrinhos, a sandwich originating from Porto made with pork, prawns and Ossau Iraty cheese.

The bakery, located near Temple, will extend its usual hours, with the event starting at 6pm. This collaboration follows a sold-out series at Toklas earlier in the month, including evenings with Dough Hands and Sonora Taquería. While the bakery is typically focused on daytime service, these evening events have allowed the team to showcase regional cuisines and wine producers in a more social, extended format.

Tickets can be reserved in advance for £35 per person, and walk-ins will be accommodated subject to availability.
