The Kingham Plough launches Sunday Service Series with top London chefs reimagining the British roast

Historic Cotswolds pub The Kingham Plough will host a new culinary series this autumn, featuring chefs from three prominent London restaurants. The Sunday Service Series is a trio of one-off kitchen takeovers running this autumn, with Kolamba, Berber & Q and The Jugged Hare each presenting a four-course menu that reinterprets the traditional British Sunday roast through their own culinary traditions.

The Kingham Plough, a 17th century inn overlooking the village green, specialises in a focus on seasonal British produce and ingredient-led cooking under head chef Ashleigh Farrand. Their new series continues this ethos while offering a platform for chefs to reinterpret a classic British staple. It starts on 28th September with Sri Lankan restaurant Kolamba. Co-founder Eroshan Meewella will bring a menu inspired by the flavours of Colombo, including dishes such as Grilled King Prawns with Green Mango & Papaya Salad, Jaggery Short Rib and Payasam.

On 19th October, the kitchen will be handed over to Josh Katz, founder of Berber & Q. Known for his use of fire and smoke, Katz will serve a menu rooted in North African and Eastern Mediterranean influences, with seasonal mezze, smoked meats and charred vegetables.

The final event, on 16th November, will feature Rafael Liuth, executive chef of The Jugged Hare, a London gastropub specialising in British game. His menu will showcase seasonal game dishes with what organisers describe as “bold flavours, sharp execution and a few clever surprises in true Jugged Hare style.”

Each Sunday Service will be priced at £65 per person, with sittings available from 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 7.30pm. A smaller, child-friendly version of the menu will be available for £25.
