Sea Containers London will host a special Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday 27th November at its in-house Sea Containers Restaurant, offering a four-course menu inspired by traditional American holiday fare. The event is open to all regardless of heritage, aiming to celebrate the transatlantic ties of the venue and provide an opportunity for guests to gather and express gratitude over a shared meal.

Thanksgiving, traditionally celebrated in the States on the fourth Thursday of November, is rooted in early colonial history and is commonly observed with a large meal shared among family and friends. While not a public holiday in the UK, the occasion has grown in popularity in recent years, particularly in cities like London with sizeable American expatriate communities. Sea Containers, located on the South Bank with views over the River Thames and the City, will mark the occcasion with a limited-edition menu priced at £59 per person. The feast is available for one night only and aims to provide a traditional dining experience. It includes a complimentary glass of Fiol prosecco and features both classic and vegetarian options, beginning with a choice of starters: Buttermilk Cornbread, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail or Deviled Eggs. For the main course, guests can choose between Norfolk Turkey and Butternut Squash Wellington, and side dishes such as green bean and mushroom casserole, Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes will be served family-style. For dessert, there’s Bourbon Pecan Pie, ice cream or sorbet.

A spokesperson for restaurant explained the event is designed to be inclusive and welcoming: “Regardless of whether diners have American heritage or not, the Thanksgiving menu offers one of the best ways to express gratitude for one’s closest and dearest while enjoying mouthwatering food and drink in a cosy setting boasting unbeatable views of the River Thames and the City.”
