The Greenhouses to open second London location with private dining, florist and deli in the Square Mile

The Greenhouses, the private dining concept known for its almost al fresco venues, will open a second location this November in London’s Square Mile. Located on Long Lane, near Barbican, the new site will offer guests the opportunity to dine in individually styled greenhouses that accommodate up to 20 people. The expansion follows the success of the original site at One Marylebone, which opened in January 2023.

The Greenhouses concept was launched by the team behind One Events and One Dining. The original Marylebone location, situated on the east side of the Grade I-listed One Marylebone church, features a series of private dining spaces ranging from intimate nooks for two to larger spaces that seat up to 32 guests. The City venue is designed to cater to a range of occasions, including corporate gatherings and private celebrations, offering a more secluded experience within the busy financial district. 

The new venue will continue the brand’s focus on Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine, with a winter menu to include dishes such as their signature challah bread, served with a range of dips such as White Tahini and Sweet Harissa, starters like Charred Aubergine with Raw Tahini, Date Molasses, Pomegranate Seeds, Goats Cheese and Pistachio, and mains including Chermoula Chicken with Aubergine Stew, Charred Vegetables, Bulgar and a Rose Harissa Yoghurt. For dessert there are treats like Sticky Date Pudding with Salted Tahini and Rose Petals.

In addition to its private dining offering, the The Greenhouses in City of London will also house a florist and deli. The first, open daily from 9am to 5pm, will be operated by Floward, a company founded in 2017 that began as an online flower delivery service. They pride themselves on “sourcing the freshest blooms directly from ethical growers and delivering them with exceptional care”. The deli, open from 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Saturday, will be operated by Baretto. They will serve Italian-style focaccia sandwiches and speciality coffee, aiming to bring “artisanal quality with a modern, welcoming atmosphere”.
