Ukrainian-born food designer Après brings conceptual dessert pop-up to Noisy Oyster in Shoreditch

Ukrainian-born food designer Alina Prokopenko, known professionally as Aprís, will debut her first London pop-up at Noisy Oyster in Shoreditch this November. The three-day event marks a collaboration between Prokopenko and the restaurant’s head chef, Alfie Bahnan, and will feature a limited-edition dessert selection designed to complement the new autumnal menu of seafood offerings.

Prokopenko, who is based in Paris, is recognised for her conceptual approach to food design, particularly in the realm of desserts. Her work often explores abstract themes through unconventional forms and textures, and for this London appearance she has developed a four-item dessert menu that explores “themes of desire and nostalgia through playful, unexpected forms”. Among the creations are an oyster-inspired panna cotta tart and a sculptural lemon meringue, to be served alongside Noisy Oyster’s main offering.

The collaboration marks a rare opportunity for London diners to experience Prokopenko’s work in person. While she has gained attention in Europe for her visually striking and often surreal work, this will be her first time presenting a full menu in the UK capital. The event is also part of Noisy Oyster’s broader initiative to bring experimental and cross-disciplinary food experiences to its East London venue. The restaurant, located in Shoreditch, has previously hosted a range of guest chefs and collaborative dinners, but this marks its first partnership with a food designer whose background lies outside traditional patisserie or fine dining. Bahnan and Prokopenko have worked closely together to ensure the resulting treats align with both the restaurant’s culinary direction and the food designer’s visions.

The pop-up will run for three nights only, and reservations are required in advance.
