The Real Greek launches nationwide aubergine scavenger hunt to celebrate new winter menu

UK-based restaurant chain The Real Greek will be launching a nationwide scavenger hunt from 19th to 25th November to mark the introduction of their updated winter menu. The event, which involves hiding hundreds of aubergines across the country, will take place within a half-mile radius of each of the chain’s 28 restaurants, including locations in London, Liverpool, Brighton and Birmingham. Participants who find a tagged aubergine can exchange it at a nearby restaurant for a complimentary Smoky Aubergine Grill Plate, valid for dine-in customers only during the campaign period. One specially tagged golden aubergine will also be hidden, with the person who finds it winning a free dish every week for life.

The seven-day campaign is intended to celebrate the launch of the group’s new winter offerings, which include the Smoky Aubergine Souvlaki Grill. The dish features the Greek staple, flame-grilled, and is available in both standard and vegan variations. Further items on the refreshed menu include new dishes such as Pork & Date Stew, Beef Stifado, Vegan Moussaka and a Pork Gyros Souvlaki Wrap, aiming to introduce more variety and seasonal options.

The golden aubergine provides a longer-term reward: the bearer will be entitled to a free dish made with the famous vegetable each week for life at any of The Real Greek’s restaurants. If no aubergine-based options are available on the menu at any point, the winner can instead claim a Souvlaki Grill.

Clues to the aubergines’ locations will be released daily via the company’s official Instagram account throughout the week of the hunt.
