“The first season felt like an appetiser”: Ali Larter, Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore on Landman season two

The second season of Landman reprises its star-studded cast, as the storylines sway between the high stakes of the competitive oil business and the delicate balance of family dynamics. Set against the Texan landscape, show creator Taylor Sheridan brings viewers deeper into the grittier corners of this narrative as the new series unfolds.
Following the death of her oil-tycoon husband, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), Cami (Demi Moore) inherits and takes over the management position within his company, M-Tex. Following her decision, she then hosts a luncheon for all the investors to assert her new position, whilst silently tackling her own devastating grief. Her business partner, Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), remains loyal by her side, as he navigates his daughter Ainsley (Michelle Rudolph) leaving for university and son Cooper (Jacob Lofland) making waves in the oil industry, which then poses new challenges in his marriage to Angela (Ali Larter) as they start to fly the nest.
The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Larter and Thornton about returning to the series, the new plot lines Sheridan carved out for them in the script and those quieter moments where we get to know their characters more.
We also spoke to Moore about her new power position at her husband’s oil company, the way Sheridan creates strong female characters and what it was like to come back to work with this amazing ensemble cast.
