American-Irish pub and jockey club The Horsemen & Fitzgerald’s to open on Broadgate this April
A new American-Irish pub and clubhouse, The Horsemen & Fitzgerald’s will open at No 1 Broadgate in City of London this April, offering a dual-concept venue inspired by equestrian heritage and transatlantic culture. It is divided into two distinct spaces: a traditional Irish freehouse and an intimate dining room inspired by classic jockey clubs. The pub component – the Horsemen – will open its doors on the 7th, followed by the launch of Fitzgerald’s, the adjoining dining room, on the 13th. The establishment aims to provide a unique blend of Kentucky and Irish influences in both its food and drink offerings, targeting City workers and visitors seeking a novel social and dining experience.
Located in the heart of the Square Mile, The Horsemen & Fitzgerald’s is the latest venture from 13th Street Hospitality, the London-based group that champions international chefs and unique hospitality concepts. The result is as a destination for after-work gatherings, casual drinks and race-day celebrations. Behind the bar there will be a focus on draught Guinness, alongside an extensive selection of Irish whiskies and American bourbons, including labels such as Four Roses Small Batch, Woodford Reserve, Midleton Very Rare and Red Spot. Live horse racing screenings are planned to add to the atmosphere, reflecting the venue’s equestrian theme.
Behind The Horsemen, Fitzgerald’s offers an all-day grill menu, curated by executive chef Esteve Prats Grau, that features dishes that draw from both Kentucky and Dublin, including sharing-style Kentucky Fried Chicken, slow-braised Lamb Shank Pie, Irish Beef Steaks and Turbot Cassoulet with an espelette sauce. Desserts highlight Southern American classics, among them Bourbon Chocolate Truffles and Kentucky Derby Pie. There’s also breakfast, with options ranging from American Waffles with Chocolate Praline to a traditional Irish Breakfast of black treacle bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, black pudding, hash browns and farls.
Prats Grau explained: “Our menu is about two food cultures that have more in common than people realise: generosity, good produce and cooking that brings people to the table. Whether you start your morning here or end your evening, we want every guest to feel the warmth of that story”.
The Horsemen will operate Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 11.00pm, while Fitzgerald’s will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays. Bookings for Fitzgerald’s open on 23rd March.
