Petersham Nurseries announces Chelsea Flower Show debut and spring programme for 2026
Petersham Nurseries, the garden centre with a Michelin Green Star restaurant in Richmond, is preparing for its first appearance at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this May. And, alongside this revelation, they are launching a spring menu and a series of seasonal workshops and floristry events.
The Chelsea Flower Show, which runs from 19th to 23rd May this year, will feature a display from the Richmond institution that will be inspired by the conservatory at Petersham House. The installation, described as a houseplant studio, is designed to evoke a sense of calm and reflection, drawing on what the nurseries describe as “the restorative rhythm of the natural world”. The team hope to create an atmosphere of gathering and quiet contemplation, offering visitors a space to pause amid the wider show.
To honour the event, there will be a Chelsea-inspired afternoon tea at the Richmond location from 21st to 23rd May. The selection, developed by head pastry chef Emma Jackson, is described as drawing on the floral character of late spring.
At the restaurant within the nurseries, a new menu has sprouted for April, shaped by seasonal produce including asparagus, sweet peas, broad beans and garden herbs. Ingredients are sourced from their own kitchen garden and the high-welfare Haye Farm in Devon, reflecting the venue’s established approach to produce-led, land-connected cooking.
The Lifestyle Shop at the Richmond site is also offering a refreshed range, including pieces from heritage Italian brand Stamperia Bertozzi, whose porcelain botanical vases are particularly lovely.
In addition to dining and shopping, Petersham Nurseries is running a programme of seasonal workshops throughout spring, offering visitors hands-on engagement with floristry and related crafts. Full details are available on their website.
