Michelin-starred Lyla to host exclusive wine dinner in Edinburgh with California’s DuMol
Lyla, the Michelin-starred restaurant in Edinburgh, will host a one-night-only wine dinner in collaboration with the California producer DuMol this Sunday, pairing a five-course tasting menu with wines from Sonoma and Napa.
The dinner will be hosted by Andy Smith, the Scottish co-owner and winegrower at DuMol, who will return to Edinburgh for the occasion. Smith will guide guests through a selection of the winery’s pinot noir and chardonnay, and will share details of his team’s approach to winemaking over the course of the evening.
Known particularly for its pinot noir and its chardonnay, DuMol is based in California and produces wines from the Sonoma and Napa regions. Its partner for the special event, Lyla is among seven of Edinburgh’s restaurants holding a Michelin star. The collaboration represents a departure from standard service, with dishes assembled specifically to match the wines.
Stuart Ralston, the chef and owner of Lyla, has developed a dedicated five-course with each course designed to complement a particular wine, allowing guests to experience the restaurant’s ingredient-led cooking alongside the winery’s range. Smith will provide context for each pairing, with explanations of the vineyards, grape varieties and methods behind the wines being served on the night.
Tickets are priced at £400 per person. The price includes the full tasting menu, the wine pairings and service throughout the evening.
