Brindisa Tapas to serve weekend paella on Battersea Power Station terrace
Brindisa Tapas will serve paella on the terrace of its Battersea restaurant every Saturday and Sunday from 1st August until 27th September, as part of a weekend series called Paella at The Power Station. The riverside venue, located at Battersea Power Station in south-west London, will offer two alternating Spanish rice dishes accompanied by a range of Spanish drinks, giving diners the option to eat in or take away.
The menu will rotate between two dishes across the run. Paella Valenciana, a traditional rice dish from eastern Spain, features chopped chicken, rabbit, green beans, saffron and paella rice. The alternative, Arroz Meloso, combines Argentinian red prawns with rice for a glossier texture and a savoury flavour. Each dish will be available for a single weekend before the menu switches to the other, with the series beginning with Paella Valenciana on 1st August.
Both dishes will be priced at £16 and served from 1pm each day until supplies run out. The restaurant has said it will cook only one pan per day, and has advised customers to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Alongside the food, the restaurant will serve beers, ciders, Spanish-inspired cocktails, wines, sherries and vermouths on its terrace, which overlooks the River Thames.
The name Brindisa derives from the Spanish word brindis, meaning a toast shared between friends. Founder Monika Linton first opened in Borough Market, and after that, in some of London’s iconic locations: on Broadwick Street in Soho, Exhibition Road in South Kensington, Battersea Power Station, and their first neighbourhood site, on the river in Richmond-Upon-Thames. Brindisa Tapas Battersea is situated at 25 Circus Road West, Battersea Power Station, London SW11 8EZ. Battersea Power Station, a former coal-fired power station redeveloped into a mixed-use complex of homes, shops and restaurants, has become a significant dining and leisure destination in the capital since its reopening to the public.
