Gordon Ramsay’s Krude olive oil brand lands in Waitrose stores nationwide
Krude, the extra virgin olive oil brand co-founded by chef Gordon Ramsay with Ben and Elle Caring, has entered more than 300 Waitrose stores across the UK from this week. Two products are included in the deal: Cook Me Nude, a robust oil intended for everyday roasting and frying, and Finish Me Nude, an early-harvest oil aimed at drizzling and dressing. The brand aims to change how consumers view the common ingredient, combining chef input with an emphasis on sourcing and packaging design – and now it makes its first foray into mainstream grocery distribution.
Both oils are sourced from family-run farms in Spain and are fully traceable to their origin. The olives are harvested early and cold extracted, a process the team says preserves flavour, freshness and a naturally high polyphenol content. Rather than glass bottles, Krude packages its oils in sustainable metal cans designed to be fully UV-protective, and they’re fitted with a pouring spout the company calls Krude Control.
Co-founders Ben and Elle Caring said: “From day one, we’ve wanted to create an extra virgin olive oil that genuinely raises the bar – not just in flavour, but in quality, provenance and design. Every detail has been considered, from our single-source, fully traceable Spanish olives to our distinctive UV-protective metal cans and precision pouring spout, all designed to help preserve freshness by reducing exposure to light and oxygen. Rather than using traditional glass bottles, we chose lightweight metal packaging that not only better protects the oil but also offers a more practical and considered approach to sustainability.
“Waitrose has long been recognised for championing exceptional producers and sourcing outstanding ingredients, making it a natural home for Krude. We’re delighted that more people across the UK will now be able to discover the difference that truly great extra virgin olive oil can make.”
The listing places Krude in a premium olive oil category that has faced significant cost pressure in recent years, following poor harvests in southern Europe that pushed wholesale prices to record levels before easing. Retailers have responded by expanding the range of higher-priced, single-origin oils sold alongside standard own-label lines, a segment in which chef-backed brands have become increasingly common.
Charlotte Kissane, oil buyer at Waitrose, said: “We’re thrilled to be the first supermarket to bring Gordon Ramsay’s Krude olive oil to our shelves. Our food loving shoppers are constantly looking for premium, restaurant-quality ingredients to elevate their home cooking. Krude hits that exact mark – it’s a bold, exceptional extra virgin olive oil with fantastic depth of flavour, whether you’re finishing a dish, dressing a fresh salad, or just dipping it with warm crusty bread. Both the cooking and finishing oils are brilliant additions to our oil aisle.”
