Vauxhall’s Market Place Food Hall is serving up a free doggy menu for National Dog Day this week

Market Place Food Hall in Vauxhall will offer dogs a free dish or drink from a specially created canine menu between Monday 24th and Friday 28th August, marking National Dog Day on the 26th. The offer requires accompanying humans to purchase any food or drink item for themselves from a participating trader or the bar to claim one complimentary treat per dog. The menu has been assembled by the food hall’s independent traders and bar team, with each producing a special version of one of its regular dishes using dog-friendly ingredients.

From the bar, furry friends can be served a Doggy Guinness (a savoury bone broth topped with whipped cream) or an A-paw-rol Spritz made from carrot juice and coconut water with an orange garnish. Food options include Pawsome Poke from Inamo Sukoshi, consisting of plain rice with salmon and sprats, Pug-lia Pizza from Made in Puglia, a cheese and tomato base topped with salami, and Steak & Fur-ies from Argentinian Grill, comprising mini steak pieces with fries.

Yorkshire Burrito is offering a Yorkie-shire Pudding with fresh meat and traditional Sunday roast vegetables, while Duck Shed will serve fresh pieces of duck under the name The Wagging Duck. Farmhouse Kebab’s Bark Bowl pairs chicken with rice, Streat Latin is providing chicken tacos, and Thai House is serving egg noodles with chicken.

Holly Hilton, marketing director at the food hall, said: “Creating an all inclusive, experience-led food hall is at the centre of the Market Place brand, and that includes the loyal companions who visit alongside our guests. For National Dog Day, our traders have curated signature dishes with a canine twist, using dog-friendly ingredients to create a dedicated menu that reflects the same creativity, variety and quality found across our food halls, allowing customers to purchase their favourite dish and get a dog friendly one for their K9.

“The campaign is a natural extension of our pet-friendly approach and our commitment to creating memorable experiences that bring people together without obstruction. This reviewer looks forward to welcoming owners and their dogs across our venues this August.”

Market Place operates food halls and bars at St Paul’s, Vauxhall, Harrow, Peckham and Leicester Square, with a further venue planned for Victoria Station this September. The company, which launched in 2020, also runs a free loyalty scheme, MP Munch, which provides members with a complimentary welcome drink on a first spend of £10.
