Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global has opened a new all-day restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers, at the Sea Containers London hotel on the capital’s South Bank. The restaurant, which began trading on 1st September, occupies a position directly on the River Thames at 20 Upper Ground, SE1, and operates from breakfast through to dinner, with a roast served every Sunday from midday. The opening is the result of a partnership between Ramsay’s restaurant group and Lore Group, the international hospitality company that manages the hotel.

The site places the restaurant within a short distance of the Southbank Centre, BFI Southbank and the National Theatre, and the operators have structured the offering around the area’s daily patterns: breakfast and coffee in the morning, lunch beside the river, pre-theatre dining in the early evening and dinner overlooking the Thames.

The menu is built around British produce, with seafood and grilled dishes forming its central components. Starters and smaller plates include Maldon Oysters, Salt Cod Croquettes and an Atlantic Prawn Pint, while larger seafood dishes include Whole Native Lobster served with garlic butter and fries, and Crab Tagliolini made with South Devon crab. From the grill, the kitchen offers a 45-day aged Rib Eye and a Côte de Bœuf to share, accompanied by bone marrow butter. Dishes associated with Ramsay’s other restaurants also appear, among them Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips and the Idiot Sandwich.

Breakfast options range from Buttermilk Pancakes and Eggs Benedict to a Full English, with vegetarian and vegan alternatives available. The Sunday menu centres on a roast, offered as Dry-Aged Beef Sirloin at £39 or Roast Chicken at £34, both served with Yorkshire pudding, beef-fat roast potatoes and trimmings.

An open-air terrace sits directly on the Thames and is intended for lunches and drinks by the river. The interior was designed by Jacu Strauss, who has referenced the building’s 1920s transatlantic cruise liner theme and river-mudlarking ceramics. The layout includes an open kitchen, a central bar and a dining room facing the water.

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global was founded in 1998 and is among the largest privately owned restaurant groups in the UK, with sites in the United States, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, France, Dubai, Singapore and Thailand. Ramsay holds nine Michelin stars worldwide, including three at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, which has retained that rating for more than two decades.

Sea Containers London is a 354-room hotel with 57 suites, and its existing food and drink outlets include the Lyaness bar and 12th Knot. The property also houses aguaSpa London and the Curzon Sea Containers Cinema.
