Two Twins Tacos brings back £1 Taco Thursdays, with mystery London location to rotate monthly from October
Two Twins Tacos has reintroduced its £1 Taco Thursdays promotion, offering tacos for £1 every Thursday throughout September at its Kilburn site, before rotating the offer to a different London location on the first Thursday of each month from October. The pricing is intended to make the restaurant’s food more accessible at a time when the cost of eating out in the capital has risen sharply.
The promotion follows a similar £1 taco offer run during the opening of the Spitalfields site, which sold out. The reduced price references dollar-taco culture in California, where informal street stands sell tacos at low prices with minimal service.
From October, the location of each monthly £1 Taco Thursday will be announced on the brand’s social media channels a few days before the first Thursday of the month, meaning customers will not know in advance which of the four sites will host the offer.
Two Twins Tacos was founded in Brixton in 2023 and began as a street food operation before expanding into permanent premises. It now operates four sites in London: Brixton, Notting Hill, Kilburn and Spitalfields. Inspired by California’s beach vibes in Santa Monica and Venice beach, the brand blends Mexican roots with bold SoCal creativity, featuring from slow-cooked classics to punchy modern twists. The menu is built around a stated belief that tacos should be affordable, and the £1 offer is a means of reinforcing that position amid ongoing pressure on household budgets.
The menu includes both meat and vegetarian fillings, served either in the signature soft shell base or as a crispy birria taco. Birria, a slow-cooked stewed meat traditionally made with beef or goat, has become a widely replicated format in London’s Mexican and Californian-influenced food scene in recent years, typically served in a fried tortilla with a side of consommé for dipping.
