Shoreditch restaurants Smokestak and Manteca are hosting a joint street food party at Protein Studios on Saturday 7th November to mark their tenth and 15th birthdays respectively. Billed as a 15-Year Blok Party, the one-night event will run from 6pm until late, with all proceeds going to charity. The venue sits roughly halfway between the two restaurants, and the party is expected to spill out onto the pavement as the evening goes on.

Tickets are on sale at £15 per person to cover entry and a welcome cocktail on arrival – either a Manteca Spritz or a Smokestak Punch. Proceeds will go to Philoxenia, the in-house charity of the restaurants’ parent group DCCO, which is currently supporting grassroots charities in Gaza.

Smokestak, which started out as a trader at Street Feast before opening its Sclater Street restaurant, will return to its original street food menu for the occasion. Two wood-fired smokers will be set up outside the venue, serving 12-hour brisket buns and charred pork belly ribs.

Meanwhile, Manteca, the Italian restaurant on Curtain Road, will serve bowls of pig skin ragù topped with crackling, alongside wood-oven flatbreads with either steamed clams and chilli or ‘nduja and honey. Sandwiches filled with capocollo, pickled peppers and Fontina cheese will also be available. A roaming Della Dogs stand will offer hot dogs filled with mortadella, topped with either cacio e pepe or tonnato.

A central bar will serve cocktails from both restaurants, including a Green Chilli Frozen Margarita, Manteca Negronis, Bajan Rum Punch and a Burnt Peach Old Fashioned. Elsewhere, guests will find live DJs, oyster shuckers, a popcorn machine, soft serve ice cream and a photo booth.

David Carter, founder of Smokestak and co-founder of Manteca, said: “November 2026 marks the joint ten years of Smokestak and five years of Manteca. 15 cumulative years of stoking fires and rolling pasta. As such, we’re throwing a street ‘blok party’ in celebration and, more importantly, in thanks to all those who got us here. The vibrance and glory of the OG Dalston Yard / Street Feast days, just this time at Protein Studios.”

Chris Leach, chef and co-founder of Manteca, added: “Five years of cooking on Curtain Road, done properly with our mates at Smokestak: fire, food, drinks and music.”
