Our favourite Christmas adverts 2019
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… Christmas advert season! With the likes of John Lewis and Sainsbury’s offering must-see tear-jerkers year after year, we just couldn’t help but sit for a good hour or so and watch the best that the UK supermarkets and various online and high street shops had to offer this year. Here are our top ad picks from the hilarious to the heartwarming for Christmas 2019…

It’s true, we adore Queens anthemic Somebody To Love sung throughout this ad by independent shop owners, but it’s really the final message that makes it a favourite for us. #whereyoushopmatters
Argos – The Book Of Dreams
A surprise entry here from Argos! We are absolutely in love with this sweet father-daughter duo, drumming in unison to Simple Minds’ Don’t You Forget About Me, as their kitchen slowly evolves into a live venue! Great song, great drumming, great ad!
McDonald’s – Reindeer Ready
We’re making sure we’re reindeer ready thanks to McDonalds’ utterly adorable animated offering. We defy anyone not to fall in love with Archie the reindeer-dog and family!
Tesco – Delivering Christmas for 100 Years
Take a journey through time with Tesco as they celebrate 100 years of delivering Christmas to the nation. We love this fun festive look at Christmas through the ages.
John Lewis – Edgar The Dragon
It’s already racked up a whopping 8 million views on YouTube so if you’ve not seen this advert live just yet, we’re betting you streamed it! We, of course, instantly fell in love with Edgar and his sweet friend as they tackled the twists and turns of his special, sometimes catastrophic, talent to save Christmas!
Aldi – The Greatest Show
Fans of The Greatest Showman will love this hilarious parody ad. Featuring Kevin the Carrot and Tommy Tomato (with a soundtrack by Robbie Williams), Aldi encourages you to put on the greatest show for Christmas 2019.
Walkers – Too Good To Share
We’ve seen the All I Want For Christmas music video more times than we’d like to admit! We were therefore completely thrilled with this snippet of the smash-hit Christmas melody sung by Mariah herself. Combined with her hilarious exchange with an elf off set, this is one of our festive faves.
Sainsbury’s – Nicholas The Sweep
This incredibly nostalgic, Santa origin story has warmed our hearts and filled our minds with magic. We believe and hope you do too. Merry Christmas!
