In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, London’s Firebird restaurant, led by co-founders Anna Dolgushina and Madina Kazhimova, will host a special one-night event featuring Savannah Hagendijk, the head chef from Amsterdam’s Michelin-starred Restaurant de Kas. The event, part of the ongoing Firebird & Friends series, is scheduled for Saturday, 8th March, in Soho, London. This marks the first international pop-up for both Firebird and Chef Hagendijk, highlighting the achievements of women in the culinary industry.

Restaurant de Kas, known for its dedication to seasonal and plant-to-plate dining, operates from a greenhouse setting in Amsterdam. It grows about 300 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and fruits, providing a dynamic backdrop where diners can see their food sourced directly from the surrounding gardens. The restaurant has been awarded both a Michelin star and a Michelin Green star.

For the event, Chef Hagendijk will curate a special menu that incorporates signature dishes from De Kas, influenced by Firebird’s distinct style of open-fire cooking. The collaboration aims to merge the smokey, flame-kissed flavours of Firebird with the fresh, garden-driven approach of De Kas. Additionally, the evening will feature a specially paired wine selection curated by Anna Dolgushina, co-founder and head sommelier at Firebird, focusing on natural and biodynamic wines.

Anna Dolgushina and Madina Kazhimova expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Restaurant de Kas on both Firebird’s and Savannah’s first ever international pop-up for International Women’s Day this year. At Firebird, we have always maintained a determination to champion female talent so we are very excited to be hosting Savannah and giving our guests the opportunity to experience De Kas’ cuisine here in London.”

The Firebird & Friends series has been instrumental in introducing a variety of different and original dining experiences to Soho, often celebrating female culinary talent and sustainable, produce-led menus. This event aims to continue that tradition, set against the backdrop of Firebird’s inviting and artistically designed space in Soho.
