Discount Suit Company unveils new cocktail menu in East London’s speakeasy scene

Discount Suit Company, a cult favourite among East London’s cocktail aficionados, has just launched its latest cocktail menu for the spring and summer seasons. Nestled beneath Wentworth Street in Spitalfields, this hidden gem of a speakeasy bar is known for its unique nod to its origins as a 1970s suit shop, offering guests a chance to enjoy classic-inspired cocktails in an evocative setting far removed from the hustle and bustle of London life.

The new menu features eight innovative cocktails. Among the highlights, there are Al Pastor, a bold mix of Patron Silver Tequila, pineapple, and citrus, with a spicy undercurrent of chilli, complemented by tomato, coriander, and basil; and Afternoon Tea, a sweet and indulgent blend of Monbazillac wine, strawberry aperitif, sparkling tea, cream, and Seven Tails XO Brandy.

The selection also includes creations like the Big Bird, a celebration of tropical fruits and spirits, and the Café Oaxaca, a refreshing concoction with a base of Mexican spirits and a mix of cacao, pistachio, coffee, hibiscus, and whey. Developed in The Umbrella Workshop, located in Shoreditch, these drinks are a testament to the innovative spirit of The Umbrella Project, which oversees Discount Suit Company and The Sun Tavern.

The bar itself retains much of its original character, with exposed brickwork, low hanging ceiling rafters, and decorative nods to its tailoring past, including a large cutting table used as the bar and small touches like cotton reels and tape measures adding to the ambiance.

Discount Suit Company, located at 29A Wentworth Street, London, continues to offer a carefully curated wine list and selections from Provisions London, alongside its new cocktail creations. This latest menu reaffirms the bar’s commitment to high-quality, classically inspired cocktails in a setting that pays homage to East London’s eclectic and vibrant history.
