Furore Grand Hotel expands Petramare Spa for olive-inspired luxury on the Amalfi Coast

The Furore Grand Hotel, located on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, has announced the expansion of its Petramare Spa. The establishment aims to enhance its wellness offerings by introducing treatments and experiences inspired by the olive tree – a symbol closely tied to the Mediterranean region and the local landscape of Furore.

The Petramare Spa, which spans over 2,000 square metres, now includes a head spa focused on scalp health and relaxation, as well as a herbarium. The latter serves as a workshop where essential oils and botanical products are created for use in treatments and in guest rooms. The overall concept is rooted in the therapeutic properties of the olive tree, incorporating bespoke fragrances and ingredients sourced from the surrounding area.

Signature treatments at the new head spa include the Harmonia Involvens, which involves a detoxifying scalp and hair scrub massage, a nourishing wrap and a facial massage. The Arum Petramaris experience utilises olive kernel powder for a body scrub, followed by a scalp and hair pack and a face mask. The herbarium provides guests with the opportunity to participate in collecting herbs and creating personalised fragrances or cosmetics in what the hotel calls “a unique workshop blending nature, local identity and contemporary refinement.”

Beyond the spa, the Furore Grand offers twice-weekly morning yoga classes on an open-air deck overlooking the coastline. Instructors lead guests through gentle movement, intended to promote both physical and mental wellbeing. Culinary experiences are also a focus, with breakfast featuring Neapolitan coffee (prepared in a traditional cucumella) and dishes curated by Michelin-starred chef Enrico Bartolini and resident chef Vincenzo Russo. The Acquarasa restaurant provides all-day dining, while the Michelin-starred Bluh Furore delivers a menu centred on local ingredients and regional cuisine.

The expansion of the Petramare Spa reflects a broader trend of luxury hotels on the Amalfi Coast positioning themselves as wellness destinations. By integrating traditional Mediterranean elements such as the olive tree and local herbs into its offerings, Furore Grand Hotel aims to provide guests with an experience that highlights the natural and cultural heritage of the region.
