Hoodwood launches Carnival Celebration Box for Notting Hill Carnival season

Hoodwood, the latest Kentish Town Caribbean takeaway, is offering a special Carnival Celebration Box from 18th to 25th August to mark the Notting Hill Carnival season. Located on Kentish Town Road, the eatery is the latest venture from the team behind Latin-Caribbean restaurant Guanabana. The limited-time food box is designed to bring the flavours of Carnival to those celebrating at home or looking to unwind after attending festivities in West London.
The Carnival Celebration Box, priced at £35 and serving two people, includes a selection of Caribbean-inspired dishes. The menu features a Jerk Chicken Bowl and a Lamb Bowl, both served with plantain and rice, along with Juicy Wings coated in Hoodwood’s house glaze, chips, and two of the restaurant’s signature Patty Pies. The offering is available for collection at the Kentish Town site or for delivery via Deliveroo.
The initiative aims to provide a convenient way for Londoners to enjoy traditional Caribbean cuisine during the annual Carnival period. While Notting Hill Carnival – taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend – is traditionally associated with music, dance and street food, Hoodwood’s at-home option offers an alternative for those who prefer to celebrate in a more relaxed setting.
Rooted in the vibrant traditions of Caribbean cooking, Hoodwood opened earlier this year as a takeaway-focused offshoot of Guanabana, which has operated in Camden for over a decade. The new outlet specialises in casual Caribbean dishes and has already garnered attention for its patty pies — a flaky pastry filled with meat or vegetables. Among the other options available, there are the Rice Bowls – all served with plantain, rice and peas, or Jollof rice – with curry lamb, oxtail or Carlita veg trio.
The Carnival Celebration Box will only be available for one week. Orders can be placed through Deliveroo or collected directly from the Kentish Town location.
