Food-focused video creators Topjaw will take over the kitchen at Side Hustle, the bar and restaurant located within NoMad London, this September as part of the ongoing Tacos with Friends charity initiative. The collaboration, running from Tuesday, 2nd September for one month, will raise funds for City Harvest, a London-based charity addressing food waste and food insecurity.

The initiative sees guest collaborators design a taco and cocktail pairing. For their contribution, Topjaw have worked with NoMad London’s culinary team to develop a taco called the Buffy the Taco Slayer, featuring a flour tortilla filled with tempura-fried cod marinated in buffalo lime sauce, crushed peach salsa, and red cabbage slaw. The accompanying cocktail, named the Margareaper, is a tomatillo margarita made with tequila, mezcal, sotol, chilli, lime, and agave.

Tacos with Friends launched in May and has since featured a number of high-profile collaborators, including Michelin-starred chef Tomos Parry, actor Will Poulter (The Bear), award-winning bartender Monica Berg, and actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Each contributor has created a unique taco in support of City Harvest’s mission to redistribute surplus food to those in need across the capital.

Side Hustle, the venue hosting the initiative, is located within the former Bow Street Police Station in Covent Garden, now home to NoMad London. The venue has gained recognition for its Latin American-inspired menu – while also offering refined interpretations of British, European and American classics – and cocktail programme, and was recently named the World’s Best International Hotel Bar at the 2025 Spirited Awards.

City Harvest, the beneficiary of the event, collects surplus food from across the food industry and redistributes it to organisations that support people experiencing food poverty. The charity reports that demand for its services has grown significantly in recent years, particularly in the wake of the cost-of-living crisis.
